Almost ready for release; I just need to make sure I didn’t break anything.
I’m sorry for being AWOL (especially from #camino and all of that).
I’m checking my mail again, so if you mailed me in the past month and haven’t received a reply, you should be getting one in the next few days. If you don’t, and still need a response, please write me again!
I don’t hate you! I just have a bad habit of holing up for a while sometimes.
I’m sure I’m not alone here: I realized today that I’d actually buy music from the iTunes Music Store if it wasn’t DRM-encumbered.
Sorry I've been MIA for the past month. I blame my new World of Warcraft addiction coupled with a need to just get away from all responsibility for a while.
Anyhoo, I'm going to be making a list of the things I need to make sure I have done for Paparazzi! 0.5, get those done, and release. I need to remind myself that it's not a 1.0 so it doesn't need to be absolutely perfect. (Plus, “good developers release,” which I’m not very good at.)
I finally started using Subversion for Paparazzi!, too (took all of 5 minutes).
(This post is probably a little disjointed as I’ve only just started my day.)
Yay!!
My life, however, is soon to be over: My brother bought World of Warcraft for me.
Yeah.
Writing Apple Help stuff is easier than I thought.
I've been reading a lot about NetFixer lately (I will say right off the bat that I am positive it does not suck, though I haven't used it myself). One of the things people keep bringing up is how it’s so awesome!!! that NetFixer comes with a bookmarklet that lets you capture the URL from your browser. This kind of irritates me, and only serves to prove to me that users really don't read release notes.
Here’s your frickin’ bookmarklet:

(I'd linkify it but Vox won’t let me. Also, I tried to post to the TUAW post about this, but I never received my verification e-mail.)
While my MBP was in the shop this week, I was very bored. So, I decided to play through both discs of Devil May Cry 2 again.
Holy crap is this game worse than I remember it (now that I've been playing DMC3:DA/SE for over 300 hours total). It's so boring. The combat is so devoid of complexity it makes me cry. It lacks the creepy feel of the first game, which the third game doesn't have either, but at least 3 more than makes up for that in other areas.
At least it was only $10 when I bought it.
P.S.: Vergil pwns.
A few things!
My MacBook Pro is back from Apple. They said the screen and keyboard issues were “under spec” ( :( ), which I guess is okay. They replaced the fan cases and mainboard, though. I still get “the whine” unfortunately, though it seems to be a bit less irritating (maybe that’s psychosomatic though).
On to Paparazzi!:
I want to release really bad, but I realized recently that I (gasp!) don’t have an interface set up for specifying dimension/delay preferences for the batch window. I shall need to remedy this, I think.
After 0.5, I think I will go straight to 1.0. It’s about time! I should be moving the main window into its own nib, and stuff, so the “New” menu item will actually do something (multiple capture windows are good). There will be prefs, most likely, for the old single-window behavior, too.
Moving to 1.0 also means I need to finalize the AppleScript dictionary, too.
